COMPLIANCE
ISO 14001 is actually the only ISO 14000 standard intended for registration by a third party (certification). All the others are for guidance and support information only.

Whether seeking certification or not, however, the first step is often difficult: What is required? Where can I get a set of ISO 14001 Policies? Where do I learn more about this subject? What about operational environmental procedures?

There are in fact a number of commercial resources available to assist. Although each has different merits, we recommend the well known ISO 14000 Toolkit. This includes a number of materials and components, including an ISO 14001 policy manual, a set of ISO 140001 procedures, an audit checklist, a complete ISO 14000 training presentation and a significant number of data collection forms.

GETTING HOLD OF THE STANDARDS THEMSELVES
A reasonable starting point is to acquire a copy of the standard(s) themselves, either stand alone or as part of a kit. Again, there are a number of sources available. Perhaps the easiest is a download. The Standards Direct ISO 14000 Page is an option for this.
